Butterfly Collection

Local butterflies are inspiration for these paintings. I love how the geometry of their wing design is echoed in the circular patterns of labyrinths and Celtic knots.I started this series of silk paintings after taking a field class in butterflies with famous Northwest butterfly expert Bob Pyle.

Holden Village Banners

One of my jobs as Holden Village\'s Artist in Residence over 9 years was to make theme art for the summer program. I found silk a wonderful medium for turning a verbal theme into a visual image, and often integrated visual elements of our mountain environment into the theme.

Learning to Speak

These paintings commemorate the GLBT community present at Holden Village during the winter of 2007. All are hand painted silk, 48x27 in., 2007. Click on an image to get the whole picture, then click on the navagation arrow to move forward.
